Metasoft 2026 call for projects
Metasoft is launching its second call for projects, “Metasoft 2026”, aimed at supporting ambitious research in the field of soft matter and strengthening collaborations within the PSL community.
This call aims to:
- Fund structuring scientific projects,
- Encourage collaborations between PSL laboratories,
- Support the activities of recently recruited young researchers,
- Contribute to advances within one of Metasoft’s three scientific axes:
- Soft materials & soft robotics
- Complex fluids & amorphous solids
- Soft matter & sustainability
Funding available in 2026
Four projects will be funded:
- 3 PhD theses (3 years each), €130k per thesis,
- 1 postdoctoral fellowship (2 years), €120k,
- An additional €15k for consumables for each project.
Eligibility
Projects must:
- Involve at least two PSL institutions,
- Ensure a balanced distribution of work between teams (max. 70% of the work in a single laboratory),
- Fit within one of the Metasoft thematic axes,
- Be submitted using the official template,
- Include at least one PI belonging to one of the Metasoft-affiliated laboratories.
Evaluation
Projects will be evaluated based on:
- Scientific quality and ambition (70%),
- Project organization and feasibility (30%).
